Privacy Policy

This policy was last updated on July 4th, 2008.

The Privacy Policy here at www.thebigbookofspam.com is very, very simple. There are only two components to it, in fact.

Updates via Email

Email addresses are collected when users voluntarily enter them into the email subscription box. The update service is run by FeedBurner, so FeedBurner has access to your email address. You might consider checking out their privacy policy. They’re owned by Google.

Google Analytics

The site makes notes of visitor movement throughout the site via the use of Google Analytics. The Analytics service records many useful pieces of information that can help improve this site, such as the time a visitor spends on each page and the most frequently read pages. Analytics also collects some non-personally-identifiable information, like the visitor’s IP address, the type of browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer) the visitor is using, and the platform (Windows, Macintosh) the user is on. If you have some time to kill, you can check out Google’s privacy pages, because obviously, they’ve got access to the data that Analytics collects.

The Big Book of Spam - Daniel M. Clark - will never sell, rent, give away or otherwise share any information that is collected by FeedBurner or Google Analytics with a third party.

That’s all there is to it. Maybe in the future the site will need one of those fancy privacy policies written by a lawyer with too much time on his hands, but right now, it’s just not necessary. Sorry to disappoint!
